Create and Schedule Playlist

ChannelsHD Introduction

After you’ve created your campaign, it’s time to create a channel. A channel is used to schedule the playback of your campaigns to your devices.

What is a Channel? Channels act as the highway to your digital endpoints. Just like each TV channel contains different programs, each channel you create can hold unique sets of campaigns. This way, if you have certain campaigns you want to display together, they’re organized accordingly. Your scheduled campaigns will run in rotation on the channel. Remember, you must have active slides in your campaign in order to see them display.

You will need to either:

  1. Pick the channel that is assigned to play on your signage player,
  2. Create a channel, add at least one campaign (with an active slide) to the lineup, and then set your player to display that channel.

*We recommend that you assign your Channels to the appropriate players and then switch/update your Campaigns within those Channels on an as-needed basis. This way, you do not have to create a new Channel every time you update your digital message.

Adding a New Channel

To begin, open the CommandCenterHD Dashboard, where you’ll find four main options. Click on the fourth one, ChannelsHD.

  1. Click the Add Channel button. This will open a popup window.
    1. Enter a Channel Name.
    2. Choose the Channel Format, either Horizontal or Vertical orientation.
    3. If you have access to CommandCenterHD RedCore content, an Enable Red Core checkbox will be available here, to activate your Red Core content for this Channel. Checking the box will allow you to select how you want your RedCore content to playback on this Channel:

*Red Core is instant content that is generated automatically based on your settings. Please reach out to your Industry Weapon account manager for more information.

  1. Click Save Channel, and you’ll see your new channel appear on the list.

Assigning a Campaign to Your Channel

  1. Click the Manage button next to the Channel you would like to add a Campaign into for playback on your digital signage.
  2. Click Add Campaign and choose the Campaign you want to use from the drop-down menu.

3. You now have the option to select Run a Simple Campaign or Run an Advanced Campaign.
In an Advanced Campaign, you have more control over when the campaign runs. Choose the days you want the campaign to begin and end, and then choose the times you want it to begin and end. In the example image, the campaign is set to run every Tuesday morning in the year 2017.

4. Once you have made your selections press the Save Time Frame button.

Adding / Changing the Channel(s) on your Device(s)

If you have just created a new Channel or would like to change which Channel is currently playing on your screen you will need to follow these steps:

1. Using the navigation bar at the top of your CommandCenterHD.

3. Hover over the Wrench icon in the navigation bar, and select the Devices link.
Here you will find a list of the Digital Signage Players that your login has access to.
NOTE: If you are unable to see Devices then you will want to contact your account administrator.

4. Click the Edit icon to the right of the signage device to change the Channel. This will open the “Edit Player” screen.

5. Navigate to the Playback section using the menu on the left side of the page.

6. In the Player Channel dropbox menu, select the channel you want to set for playback on this device.
NOTE: If you would like to schedule multiple channels to your device you’ll want to use the playlists functionality found in the next section of this article.

7. Click on the Save Player button to apply your changes.
NOTE: It will take about 15-20 minutes in order for you to see the switch from the old channel to the new one on your screen

Need to change the channel on multiple devices? You can easily assign one channel to multiple devices through the “Playlist” section of the account. If you need to set one channel to multiple screens then we recommend you create a “Playlist.” This article goes over our Playlist functionality.
